The Local Organizing Committee is pleased to announce GeoSur2027, an international forum dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary understanding of the Earth system through the integration of geology, geophysics, climate science, tectonics, and environmental research.

The symposium will bring together researchers, professionals, industry representatives, policy-makers, and students from across the Southern Hemisphere and beyond to discuss emerging scientific challenges and technological innovations related to:

-  Climate change and Earth system evolution
-  Plate tectonics and active geodynamics
- Natural hazards and environmental resilience
-  Geophysical imaging and monitoring technologies
-  Sustainable resource management and energy transition
-  Ocean-continent interactions
-  Polar and Southern Ocean processes

This edition of the Symposium will take place in the City of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Buenos Aires is a top touristic destination, known for its European-inspired architecture and rich cultural heritage, often referred to as "The Paris of South America." With over 130 museums, 287 theaters, and a wide range of restaurants and bars, the city offers a vibrant cultural scene beyond the symposium itself.

ubasciforumThe Symposium will be held at the Cero+Infinito Building, located within Ciudad Universitaria, the main campus of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

Inaugurated in 2021 and designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, the Cero+Infinito Building is an annex of Pabellón I, home to the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FCEN–UBA). Its modern, sustainable design houses lecture halls, computer labs, seminar rooms, and research facilities, making it an ideal venue for scientific meetings.

The building has several access points, including the main entrance of the Pabellón I building, which connects directly to the Cero+Infinito building.
